Golf Day Helps Good Causes

A charity golf day in Sprowston raised thousands for two Norfolk based charities. The fifth charity golf day organised by Insight Financial Associates was held at the Marriott Sprowston Manor Hotel and Country Club. The aim of the charitable event is to “make a difference”.
The annual event benefits local charities, the Bryan Gunn Appeal, Norfolk and Waveney cancer charity the Big C, and the Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths. The Bryan Gunn Appeal recently reached its £1m milestone, with Insight having raised £20,000 towards this total.
Jason Howard, managing director for Insight, said “Once again we were overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone who attended our event.”
“I would also like to say a big thank you to all those who donated items for our auction and raffle, which is the reason we were able to raise an amazing amount of £8,500.”
Luckily the weather help up and a total of 18 teams teed off on Thursday. At the end of the day, the cup was won by Aquaterra, who scored an impressive grand total of 99. The former Norwich and England player, Dean Ashton, came runner-up with Doug Lawrie winning the best player award. Golf pro Matt Green came in first for the longest drive and Insight director, Craig McClurg, won nearest the pin. The total of £8,500 included money raised from the raffle and auction held on the day.
